After the band's self-titled debut album had spent a year in the U.S. Top 20, rock's conquering heroes played a sold-out show at London's celebrated Rainbow Theatre on April 27, 1978. Opening with "Long, Long Way From Home", fans were treated to a magnificent display of musicianship and performance, including hit singles "Feels Like The First Time" and "Cold As Ice", as well an exclusive preview of two tracks from the upcoming "Double Vision" album, "Hot Blooded" and "Double Vision".
Featuring the classic FOREIGNER lineup of Mick Jones (lead guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Lou Gramm (lead vocals, percussion), Ian McDonald (guitars, keyboards, sax, flute, backing vocals), Al Greenwood (keyboards, synthesizer), Ed Gagliardi (bass, backing vocals) and Dennis Elliott (drums, backing vocals), this show captures the essence of a group who would go on to become one of the world's best-selling bands of all time.

Forty years later, this definitive performance by the original band has been restored from the original film reels, remixed and remastered for this release.

"1978 was an absolutely magical time for the band," remembers Mick Jones, "and to come back over to the U.K. to play a headline show at the legendary Rainbow really was a dream come true. The audience was amazing that night. We couldn't have wished for a better show."

As FOREIGNER's music continues to resonate with fans old and new, the band celebrated their 40th anniversary playing amphitheaters and arenas throughout 2018.

Blur - 10th Anniversary Boxset (1999)

As a slightly obsessive Blur fan, I think this box-set is worth owning if only for the art-work, some of the most attractive and witty ever to appear on CDs. Many of the tracks inside make you wonder why they were never included on Blur's albums: the Beatles-ey homage to adolescence 'Young and Lovely' should definitely have appeared on 'Modern Life is Rubbish', while 'All Your Life' is a brilliantly melancholic Bowie-esque song that was inexplicably missed off 'Blur'. It's interesting to see foreshadows of Blur's many changes in sound through their B-sides, for example 'Bonebag', a beautiful ballad predating the likes of 'To the End' by 2 years. I found many of the tracks laugh-out-loud funny, such as the parody 'Rednecks' or 'Alex's Song' with a hilariously distorted vocal from Mr James: it's obvious that Blur shove all of their work out on record, without caring about any ensuing humiliation, but, hey, maybe that's why I love them. Many of the CDs contain between 7 and 9 tracks, so it's definitely good value, although obviously there are some nondescript or poor tracks, given Blur's prolific output. However I've given the set 5 stars for its fascinating journey through this definitively 90s band's career. Legislated nostalgia? Maybe. But as it's virtually impossible or extremely expensive to get hold of most of Blur's B-sides any other way, it's a trip you can't afford to miss out on.

Sony’s Legacy Recordings will issue a three-disc deluxe edition of Van Morrison‘s 1997 album The Healing Game which features unreleased session tracks, collaborations and live performances.
The first CD features the 10 album tracks with five bonus tracks including single versions and songs from compilations.

‘Sessions & Collaborations‘ are the focus of the second disc, and amongst the offering are early versions of ‘The Healing Game’ and ‘Fire in the Belly’ and various previously unreleased recordings including a jazz version of ‘The Healing Game,’ the full length version of ‘Sometimes We Cry’, several previously unissued collaborations with Carl Perkins and a couple of tracks recorded with John Lee Hooker.

The final CD features Van Morrison’s Live at Montreux concert from 17 July 1997. This is available officially for the first time and includes songs from The Healing Game as well as some favourites from his back catalogue and some well chosen covers (such as Ray Charles, Antony Newley and Sly Stone).

As well as the triple-disc deluxe, the album will be reissued on vinyl LP featuring just the 10 album tracks.

No new ground is broken on Cry. In fact, Simple Minds' reliance on glistening synthesizer textures, the band's most distinguishing characteristic when it broke in the mid-'80s, becomes the only notable detail on the disc. With unmemorable material and the vocals of Jim Kerr showing little interpretive or technical advancement, each track hangs heavily on the keyboards, which become so dominant that some guitar parts merely imitate electronic effects; the tremolo strings on "Sleeping Girl" may as well come from a sample loop. To its credit, Simple Minds has a unique sound; no matter who among the many credited keyboardists is actually playing a given part, it can't be mistaken for the product of any other band (with the exception of the last track, Vince Clarke's "The Floating World," whose galloping rhythm nods obviously toward Erasure). But when sheen takes precedence over substance, and particularly when that sheen has gleamed for nearly 30 years, that says something about what's been missing from the hearts of Simple Minds.

Everything That Happens Will Happen Today is the second album made in collaboration between David Byrne and Brian Eno, released on August 18, 2008, by Todo Mundo. The album explores themes of humanity versus technology and optimism in spite of bleak circumstance through the blending of electronic and gospel music. Critical reception was largely positive and the album received awards for both the musical content as well as the packaging and technical production.
This album is the first joint effort between the two musicians since 1981's My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and Eno's work producing and co-writing with Talking Heads. Byrne and Eno worked on the tracks in their home studios throughout 2007 and early 2008 and sent digital copies of the recordings to one another over e-mail. The single "Strange Overtones" was released for free to promote the album and Byrne toured through 2008 and 2009, performing songs from this release as well as the duo's previous collaborations. This tour was later documented with the live extended play Everything That Happens Will Happen on This Tour – David Byrne on Tour: Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno and the concert film Ride, Rise, Roar.

Everything That Happens Will Happen Today was released with a marketing strategy that involved Byrne creating the vanity label Todo Mundo and hiring Internet startup company Topspin Media to promote the album online using word-of-mouth and Internet sales to market the music. Several formats were created to allow users to have options on how to listen to the music—from free streaming audio to a deluxe package housed in a tin.

Although Procol Harum owed their career to their initial single, "A Whiter Shade of Pale," they were never really a singles band. Annotator Chris Welch notes that the group was not a one-hit wonder, but it might be called a three-hit wonder by tossing in "Homburg" and "Conquistador" (four, if "Pandora's Box," a U.K. Top 20, is included). For the most part, Procol Harum were known for their LPs, so the idea of organizing a compilation around singles that happen to have been excerpted from those LPs, largely without the band's say-so, in one country or another, is a curious one. But A&B: The Singles, a three-CD set running just under three and three-quarter hours, manages to include most of Procol Harum's better tracks along with rarities that will intrigue fans. Of course, there are the non-LP B-sides, such as "Lime Street Blues," "Good Captain Clack," "Long Gone Geek," "Drunk Again," "Backgammon," and "Into the Flood." Then, there are foreign curios, including "Shine on Brightly" sung in Italian ("Il Tuo Diamante") and a French single with "Adagio di Albinoni" on one side and "Blue Danube" on the other. Getting into hair-splitting territory, there are singles that represent alternate takes ("Quite Rightly So," "In the Wee Small Hours of Sixpence"); that have been remixed ("As Strong as Samson Is"); that have been edited for single release; or that are in mono because that's how they were released as singles. The average fan may lose interest at this level of obscurity, but the more fanatic will be engaged. And that's who this collection is aimed at: Procol Harum aficionados who have already bought most of these tracks umpteen times, but not all of them, and not necessarily in these exact forms. For those fans, this album is a godsend; for others, it will seem redundant.

The Beatles Ballads is a compilation album featuring a selection of ballad songs by The Beatles. The album was not released in the United States, but in Mexico, the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, Germany, Italy, India, Japan, South Korea and Australia. In Australia, the album was a big success, spending 7 weeks at #1. It reached #17 in the UK.
The cover art by "Patrick" (John Byrne) had been created in 1968 as a possible cover for what would become The Beatles ("The White Album"). Its style and concept appears to support the White Album's original working title of A Doll's House.

The album was released in 1985 on LP and cassette under the EMI-ODEON label in Brazil using identical front and back cover art. It has never been officially released on compact disc…
